To activate, soak the sheet in water and place it in the freezer. Once frozen, they function as a flexible, non-toxic cold pack that maintains therapeutic cold temperatures for 20–40 minutes.
Are they safe for children?
Yes. Envirofreeze dry ice packs use a food-safe, non-toxic water-absorbent polymer with no glycol or harmful chemicals. They’re safe for use in school first aid rooms and around children of all ages, including in contact with minor skin abrasions.
How long do they stay cold?
Once fully frozen, Envirofreeze ice packs maintain therapeutic cold temperatures for 20–40 minutes depending on ambient temperature and application method. This is appropriate for standard RICE protocol first aid applications (20 minutes on, then remove).
Can they be cut to size?
Yes. Dry ice sheets can be cut with standard scissors to any size you need — useful for smaller patients, targeted applications, or fitting around specific joints.
How do I store them before activating?
Unactivated dry ice packs store completely dry at room temperature. Keep them in their original packaging in a cool, dry place — a cupboard, storeroom, or equipment room is fine. They have an indefinite dry shelf life.
How do I activate them?
Submerge the sheet in water for 5–10 minutes until it has absorbed water and expanded. Allow excess water to drain, then place flat in your freezer. Freeze for the standard time your freezer requires for water to freeze (typically 4–6 hours).

What temperature do PCM gel bricks maintain?
